The first question

Do You Need a Visa for China?

Less often than you might expect. Here is where the main passports stand, as of July 2026.

Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada

On China’s 50-country visa-free list: up to 30 days for tourism, nothing to arrange in advance, no onward ticket needed. Announced to run to 31 December 2026.

United States

Not on the 50-country list, so tourism normally needs a visa. The one exception is China’s separate 240-hour (10-day) transit rule — only for a genuine onward journey to a third country, on a confirmed connecting ticket, within the permitted regions.

Singapore, Malaysia

Not on that list either: both travel under their own mutual visa-exemption agreements with China, up to 30 days per entry. Malaysian passports carry extra conditions of their own.

We can help you prepare, but admission is always decided by border inspection when you land. Rules change — check with the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country before booking. Last checked 15 July 2026.

Thank you to our guide Xie for the warm hospitality — knowledgeable, patient, meticulous and thoughtful. It made the journey unforgettable. I will be introducing him to my friends in Singapore who want to visit Zhangjiajie.

Good to know

Frequently Asked Questions

How many days do I need in Zhangjiajie?

For most first-time visitors, 3 to 5 days is ideal. Five days gives a relaxed pace with room for photography or culture.

Can I customize the tour?

Yes — every tour is private and adjustable by route, hotel level, pace, photography, food, culture and connecting cities.

Do you include shopping stops?

Never. We focus on private sightseeing, local experiences, photography, food and flexible travel support.

Can you arrange tours beyond Zhangjiajie?

Yes. We arrange private trips across Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai, Guilin, Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, Chongqing and more.

How does it work, from my first message to the trip?

Tell us your dates, group and interests and we send a free, no-obligation itinerary and quote. We refine the route, hotels and pace with you over WhatsApp until it is right, a small deposit confirms it, and then you travel with your own private English-speaking guide.

How do I pay, and what is your cancellation policy?

A small deposit of 10–20% holds your trip — never a wire to a personal account, and you receive a written receipt for every payment. You settle the balance in person in China after signing your written contract. Cancel 30 or more days before departure for a full refund, or 15–29 days before for 50%. See our Payment & Cancellation Policy.
