Suggested 3-Day Zhangjiajie Route
Day 1: Airport or Rail-Station Pickup and Hotel Transfer
Your driver meets you at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport or the railway station and takes you straight to your hotel in Wulingyuan. Your guide meets you in the hotel lobby the next morning to confirm the departure time and the pace you prefer. If you arrive early, we can suggest a relaxed local dinner, or leave the evening free so that you are rested for the mountains.
Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park — Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Tianzi Mountain and the Ten-Mile Gallery
The whole day goes to the upper landscapes of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Ride the Bailong Elevator up to Yuanjiajie for the pillar scenery linked to the Avatar mountains — the Hallelujah Mountain area, the First Bridge Under Heaven and several viewpoints over the whole forest of peaks. Continue to Yangjiajie for the wall-like ridges of its Natural Great Wall. Then move on to Tianzi Mountain, pause at its wide sandstone summit viewpoints, take the Tianzi Mountain cableway down, and finish the day on the Ten-Mile Gallery mini-train through the valley floor. How fast you go and where you linger follows the day’s visibility and your energy.
Day 3: Tianmen Mountain, Heaven’s Gate and Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Tianmen Mountain. Your exact up-and-down route is arranged according to the operating plan and ticket availability for your visit. Experience the highlights at a comfortable pace, which may include the Tianmen Mountain cableway, the 99-bend mountain road, mountain escalators, Heaven’s Gate and the cliffside glass walkway where open and suitable for you. After sightseeing, we transfer you to the airport or rail station for your onward journey. We recommend a late-afternoon or evening departure so that you can enjoy the mountain without cutting the day short.

Prices are fixed in Chinese yuan; the US dollar figures are a guide and are converted at the Bank of China rate on the day your itinerary is confirmed. Meals are not included. Send us your travel month and group size and you will have an itemised private quote before you book.
Standard hotel: the Days Inn by Wyndham beside the Wulingyuan Landmark Gate — breakfast included, less than 100 metres’ walk to the Forest Park entrance and about 300 metres to the Landmark Gate. If you would like something higher, we send two or three options with live prices for your dates.
What affects the final price? Travel season, number of travellers, hotel star level, private vehicle type, guide coverage, attraction tickets and any optional experiences. Peak travel dates and Chinese public holidays can increase hotel and attraction costs.

Is three days enough for Zhangjiajie?

Does this tour include the Glass Bridge?
Not in the core three-day route. The itinerary is deliberately focused on Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain. We can discuss adding the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge only if your arrival and departure times make it sensible.
Can this tour be senior-friendly?

How do I get the final price?

What if it rains?
Mountain weather changes fast. If it does, we change the order of the day and you still see everything planned; when visibility is really poor, a boat trip on Baofeng Lake is our usual alternative.
How do the deposit and cancellation work?
Cancel 30 days or more before departure and your deposit is refunded in full; 15 to 29 days before, 50% is refunded; within 15 days it is non-refundable. The full terms are on our payment, deposit and cancellation policy page.
Can I arrive by high-speed train from Changsha or Chongqing on Day 1 and start straight away?
Yes. Day 1 is only the station pickup and hotel check-in, so any arrival time works; you set off into the park from your hotel on the morning of Day 2.
